In 2008, my 17-month-old brother Brayden slipped through a back door and into an unprotected pool. In a matter of seconds, our world changed forever. He was full of life, joy, and curiosity — and in an instant, we lost him. That unimaginable moment is the reason behind everything we do.
Brayden’s passing sparked the creation of Because of B.R.A.Y.D.E.N, a nonprofit dedicated to water safety and drowning prevention. Through school programs, community outreach, and partnerships, we turned his story into action - reaching families, educators, and children with life-saving education and awareness.
But I knew we could do more.
That’s why I launched A Safe Pool Charleston — a direct extension of Brayden’s legacy and our family’s mission. We install premium mesh pool safety barriers to help prevent drownings before they happen — giving families not just peace of mind, but the tools to protect what matters most.
